Instructions for Artists Interested in the Cryptic Paths Tarot Project
Thank you for expressing interest in the Cryptic Paths Tarot project! Below is a detailed walkthrough of what to expect and what steps to take to join this one-of-a-kind collaboration.
1. Confirm Your Interest

- Fill out the form with the following details:
- Your name and preferred email address.
- Your chosen compensation model (see Step 4).
- Links to your social media profiles and a profile picture. This will be featured on our website to highlight and credit your contributions.
- Any questions you may have lingering or want to have answered prior to the art use agreement being generated and sent to you.
2. Receive the Art Use Agreement
After submitting your details and receiving answers to all your questions - you’ll receive an Art Use Agreement at the email address you provided within 24 Hrs.
- This agreement allows Obelus 99 and their Affiliates to market, distribute, sell, and display your artwork.
- It ensures you retain full credit for your contribution while giving us the flexibility to use the piece within the scope of this project.
Review, sign, and return the agreement to finalize your participation.
3. Payment Structure
We offer payments via Cash App, Venmo, PayPal or Zelle, split as follows:
- 50% Upfront Payment: Sent once your participation and card assignment are confirmed.
- 50% Completion Payment: Issued after your approved artwork is submitted.
4. Choose Your Compensation Model
Please select one of the following options when filling out the form:
- Option 1: Flat Payment
A total of $10, split as $5 upfront and $5 upon completion.
- Option 2: Revenue Sharing
- Earn 40% of all lifetime individual sales of your card.
- This option does not provide an upfront payment and first payment to be issued from sales will occur in the end of the fiscal quarter the agreement was signed on.
- If your card is sold as part of a deck, you’ll receive a percentage of the profits equal to the proportion of your cards included in the deck.
- For example:
- A deck with 2 of your cards earns you a higher share than one with 1 card
This model rewards artists with greater involvement, encouraging long-term collaboration.
5. Card Assignment
Once your participation is confirmed, we’ll assign you a card to design. You’ll be provided with:
- The card’s name and symbolic meaning (e.g., "The Moon," "Page of Wands").
- A brief description of the associated themes for you to pick from in order to guide your creative process.
6. Artwork Guidelines
Your design should meet the following requirements:
- File Format: PNG or JPEG.
- Size: 600 DPI at minimum 4 x 6 inches.
- Style: Unique to your vision while aligned with the card’s theme.
- Deadline: This will be stated in your individual Art Agreement.
7. Credit and Recognition
- Your name or handle will appear on your card and promotional materials.
- Your social media links and profile picture will be displayed on our website’s Artists page.
- This ensures lasting recognition and visibility for your work.
8. Submission
Submit your completed artwork to submit@obelus99.com by the agreed-upon deadline. Once approved:
- You will receive your remaining payment.
- Your card and name will be featured on our website and across our marketing channels.
